This page should convert stamp-system intent into housing purchases, Barn Find hunting, and Touge Battle participation.

Quick Answer

The Discover Japan stamp system has 7 tiers requiring 20,000 total JP (Journey Points). Each tier unlocks Barn Finds and houses. The fastest JP farming priority is: Yellow Story events (3-star, ~300 JP each) → Mascot collection (zero load time, grab while driving) → Touge/Street races → Regional stacking (clear one area fully before moving).

To unlock everything (all 15 Barn Finds + all 8 houses), you need the Gold stamp at 20,000 JP.

What Is the Discover Japan System?

Discover Japan is FH6's second progression track, running parallel to the main Horizon Festival (Wristband) campaign. While Wristbands unlock events and race types, Discover Japan unlocks the best free content in the game: Barn Finds, player houses, and exclusive rewards.

Discover Japan vs Horizon Festival

Discover Japan7 Stamps (Yellow → Gold)Barn Finds, Houses, Estate BuilderEarning JP through exploration and activities

You need both. Grinding only Festival events leaves Barn Finds and houses locked. Grinding only Discover Japan leaves events and race types locked. Run both simultaneously for optimal progression.

Key Milestones

  • 1,250 JP (Yellow): Your first Barn Find + Yashiki House. Reach this in the first 1-2 hours.
  • 5,000 JP (Blue): Hakusan Mountain Lodge (+10% global CR bonus). The most impactful milestone for credit farming.
  • 8,000 JP (Pink): 4 more Barn Finds. The biggest single-tier Barn Find unlock.
  • 20,000 JP (Gold): Everything unlocked. All 15 Barn Finds, all 8 houses.

All 14 JP Sources — Ranked by Efficiency

S-Tier: Fastest JP Per Minute

1. Yellow Story Events (3-Star)

  • JP per event: ~300 JP for 3-star completion
  • Why: Yellow events are scattered across the map with fixed high JP payouts
  • Strategy: Prioritize 3-starring every Yellow event before chasing other JP sources

2. Regional Mascots

  • JP per mascot: ~50-100 JP
  • Why: Zero load time, collectible while driving between events
  • Strategy: Never fast travel past a Mascot. Always grab them when passing.

3. Touge & Street Racing

  • JP per race: ~150-300 JP
  • Why: Races pay well and advance both Discover Japan AND Festival progression
  • Strategy: Run Touge Battles especially — they pay JP, credits, and unlock mountain roads

A-Tier: Strong, Consistent JP

4. Photography Challenges

  • JP per photo: ~50-150 JP
  • Why: Quick to complete, no driving skill required
  • Strategy: Do photo challenges in bulk when passing through a region

5. Day Trips (Mei's Guided Tours)

  • JP per trip: ~200-400 JP
  • Why: Routes pass through multiple collectibles, effectively stacking JP sources
  • Strategy: Run Day Trips when they are available — they are time-efficient JP bundles

6. Food Delivery

  • JP per delivery: ~100-200 JP
  • Why: Simple point-to-point drives with guaranteed payouts
  • Strategy: Use a fast car, ignore traffic, focus on route efficiency

7. Drift Club Japan

  • JP per session: ~150-250 JP
  • Why: Drift zones and drift events pay JP on top of credits
  • Strategy: Run drift zones while in the area for other activities

B-Tier: Worth Doing, Not Priority

8. Road Discovery

  • JP per road: ~10-30 JP per new road
  • Why: Passive JP while exploring. Adds up over time.
  • Strategy: Drive everywhere instead of fast traveling. The fog-of-war system rewards road discovery.

9. Landmarks

  • JP per landmark: ~50-100 JP
  • Why: Quick stops, no skill required
  • Strategy: Hit landmarks when passing nearby

10. Car Collection & Upgrades

  • JP per car/upgrade: Varies
  • Why: JP bonuses for garage milestones
  • Strategy: Natural progression — do not buy cars just for JP

11. Houses & Garages

  • JP per purchase: One-time bonus per house
  • Why: Buying houses awards JP on top of their perks
  • Strategy: Buy houses in order (see Player Housing Guide) and collect the JP bonus

C-Tier: Low Priority / Passive

12. Friends (Multiplayer Activities)

  • JP per activity: Varies
  • Why: Fun but inconsistent for JP farming
  • Strategy: Play multiplayer for fun, not as primary JP source

13. Moto Auto Zine

  • JP per issue: Small one-time bonuses
  • Why: Collectible magazines scattered across the map
  • Strategy: Grab them when you see them, do not hunt them specifically

14. Yuji's Auto

  • JP per visit: Small incremental bonuses
  • Why: Character-related progression
  • Strategy: Visit when prompted, not a farming priority

Fastest JP Farming Route (Step by Step)

Phase 1: Yellow Stamp Rush (0 → 1,250 JP)

  1. Complete the opening qualifier chain (earns JP naturally)
  2. Run all available Yellow Story events — target 3 stars on each (~300 JP per event)
  3. Grab every Mascot you see between events (zero detour time)
  4. Hit photography challenges when passing landmarks
  5. Run 2-3 Touge races (unlocked by driving to mountain roads)

Target time: 1-2 hours. Unlocks: Yashiki House + 1st Barn Find.

Phase 2: Green → Blue (1,250 → 5,000 JP)

  1. Continue Yellow Story events — clear all in accessible regions
  2. Run Day Trips when available — they efficiently stack multiple JP sources on one route
  3. Start Food Delivery missions — consistent JP with low difficulty
  4. Clear all Drift Club Japan sessions in one region
  5. Regional stacking: pick one region, clear ALL JP activities there before moving

Target time: 5-8 hours. Unlocks: Minka House, Hakusan Mountain Lodge (+10% CR), 5 total Barn Finds.

Phase 3: Blue → Orange (5,000 → 12,000 JP)

  1. Regional stacking becomes the most efficient strategy — clear one region completely
  2. Run all remaining Yellow events across the map
  3. Touge Battles on all 5 mountain routes
  4. Finish all Day Trips
  5. Complete all Photography challenges
  6. Maximize road discovery — the fog-of-war pays JP for every new road

Target time: 15-20 hours. Unlocks: Fuji Unkai House, 11 total Barn Finds.

Phase 4: Orange → Gold (12,000 → 20,000 JP)

  1. Clean up all remaining JP sources: Mascots, Moto Auto Zine, landmarks
  2. Multiplayer activities for variety and bonus JP
  3. Complete any missed Yellow events or Day Trips
  4. Full road discovery — every road is JP
  5. This is the longest phase — the JP curve flattens at higher tiers

Target time: 30-40 hours. Unlocks: Soko 78, Vision House, all 15 Barn Finds.

Regional Stacking Strategy

The most efficient JP farming method: pick one region and clear everything before moving.

Why Regional Stacking Works

  • No fast travel time: driving between activities reveals roads (more JP) and lets you grab Mascots
  • Activity overlap: Day Trips pass through Photography spots, which are near Mascots, which are on the way to Yellow events
  • No backtracking: clearing a region fully means never returning
  1. Minamino (South): Dense activity concentration. Best starting region.
  2. Ito (Central): Touge routes, drift zones. Good second region.
  3. Tokyo City: Mascots everywhere, tight activity clusters. Clear when in the area.
  4. Ohtani: Industrial zone with hidden collectibles. Clear mid-game.
  5. Nangan: Lake area with unique activities. Clear mid-game.
  6. Shimanoyama: Mountain roads and Speed Zones. Clear mid-to-late game.
  7. Takashiro: Gravel lots and rally roads. Clear late game.
  8. Sotoyama: Forested hills, spread-out activities. Clear late game.
  9. Hokubu (North): Endgame region with high-JP activities. Clear last.

Discover Japan FAQ

Q: Do I need to do Discover Japan activities or can I just race?

A: You need Discover Japan. Barn Finds (15 free cars including the legendary Mazda 787B) and 6 of the 8 houses are locked behind stamp progression. You cannot access this content through racing alone.

Q: What is the single fastest way to earn JP?

A: Yellow Story events with 3-star completions (~300 JP each). After those, Mascot collection while doing other activities (zero additional time).

Q: How long does it take to reach Gold stamp (20,000 JP)?

A: Approximately 30-40 hours of mixed gameplay. Regional stacking and prioritizing Yellow events can reduce this to ~25 hours for efficient players.

Q: Does Discover Japan progress carry over between seasons?

A: Yes. Stamps and JP are permanent account progress. You do not lose progress between Festival seasons.

Q: Do I need Gold stamp for anything critical?

A: Gold is required for Vision House (1.5M CR endgame property) and the final 2 Barn Finds. Blue stamp (5,000 JP) is the most impactful milestone because it unlocks Hakusan Mountain Lodge's +10% global credit bonus.

Q: Can I buy JP or skip the grind?

A: No. JP is earned exclusively through gameplay. There is no microtransaction or shortcut to stamp progression.

Q: Do I need to complete every JP source to reach 20,000?

A: No. There is more total JP available than the 20,000 required. You can skip some activity types and still reach Gold.

Q: What should I unlock first: houses or Barn Finds?

A: Both unlock automatically at each tier. You do not choose — reaching a stamp tier unlocks everything at that tier. That said, prioritize buying Yashiki House (10K CR, Yellow stamp) and Hakusan Mountain Lodge (635K CR, Blue stamp) as soon as their tiers unlock.
